So Sunny started his musical journey in the 80′s. After buying his first 12″ vinyl at the age of 9, collecting vinyl and submerging into the urban culture was his destiny. At the ripe old age of 12, So Sunny would be found break dancing in the streets of his home town of Leicester along with friends and older cousins.
His passion for Hip Hop, Soul and RnB grew throughout the 90′s and soon enough he his vinyl collection was enviable. At the age of 18, he purchased his first pair of turntables. There would be days at a time where he would spend practicing on his belt driven turntables to master the art of blending.
As his University days started in London, he was ready to spread his love for the urban music scene. With money still tight, he took his faithful belt driven turntables to London and hosted a few events at various venues around the City. The response to his style and selection were positive and Sunny grew in confidence and belief and his passion for the scene grew ever stronger.
In 1999, So Sunny relocated to the West Midlands and played the odd set in front of diverse crowds. Due to work commitments, he was unable to follow his love to the fullest. In the early 2000′s, relocating to his home town of Leicester inspired him to once again follow his dream.
In 2003, So Sunny launched his own promotion label called Nothing But Niceness. His mission of providing quality urban nights to knowledgable crowds were always well attended and he soon had a following of loyal party people.
His lucky break came in 2006 when his skills were recognised by a promotion team whilst he was on holiday in the United States. The following 18 months saw him drop guest sets in Miami, Las Vegas, Bangkok and Seoul.
